KOREAN COLLECTIONS DATABASE

Based in Seoul, Overseas Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation (OKCHF) commissioned us to help structuralise and develop a research website to help gather information on Joseon diplomatic activities in the late 19th and early 20th century and related Korean artefacts that are now kept as artworks or ethnographic items in the collections of various European institutions.

The main target of the research is the Goryeo period celadons and export paintings produced during the Open Ports Period (1876-1910) in Joseon, Korea; these ceramics occupy a symbolic position in the history of Korean material culture.
