UNDP and Sistema Único de Beneficiarios (SIUBEN) asked us to write and produce an explanatory video for a broad countrywide campaign about a poverty index due to be launched in the Dominican Republic. Utilizing guidance from The University of Oxford’s OPHI, we focused on five dimensions to highlight inclusion and diversity. As a brief, we were given explicit instructions to show images that a wider audience would relate to and to refrain from using abject poverty and misery as a visual tool.
We were also tasked with writing a narrated script, filming and establishing relatable scenes, and editing and integrating motion graphics into the videos to highlight the key messages.
Despite a tight production schedule, we produced a five-minute video that dynamically conveyed all the key messages. While keeping a fast and amicable pace with images that the national audience found familiar.
