UNDP and SIUBEN asked us to write and produce an explanatory video for a broad countrywide campaign about a poverty index they were about to launch in the Dominican Republic with guidance from The University of Oxford’s OPHI, focused on five distinct dimensions, and to highlight inclusion and diversity.
With explicit instructions on how to show images that a wider audience would relate to, and to refrain from using abject poverty and misery as a visual tool.
We wrote a narrated a script, travelled around the country filming and establishing relatable scenes, and subsequently edited and integrated motion graphics into the videos to highlight the key messages.
Despite a tight production schedule, we produced a five minute long video that conveyed all the key messages in a dynamic way, keeping a fast and amicable pace with images that the national audience found familiar.
